Hello,

and happy new year!

I have been using texlive for a decade or so on linux systems. Wonderful
& thank you for your community efforts!

I just tried to install with the netinstaller. When evoking "sh
install-tl" in the shell, I get the following reaction

install-tl: line 22: my: command not found
install-tl: line 23: syntax error near unexpected token `('
install-tl: line 23: `$svnrev =~ m/: ([0-9]+) /;'

So, in my lay considerations, this seems to be a bug.

System 4.14.8-300.fc27.x86_64

Best wishes,

Ingmar

The installer is actually a Perl script, hence the error. :)

[***@cambridge install-tl-20180102] $ file install-tl
install-tl: Perl script text executable

You can run it with either ./install-tl (it already has the +x flag) or
with perl install-tl.

Cheerio!
